Dr. Emma Morton-Bours joined us in 2004 after completing four years of advanced medical training in internal medicine at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital. She was the Chief Medical Resident at this Harvard Medical School affiliated hospital. While at the Brigham, she received the Harvard Medical School Teaching Award, the Resident Mentor Award, and the Golden Stethoscope Award.
Emma grew up in Portola Valley and attended Gunn High School. She received her B.A in molecular biology from Princeton, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a Merck Scholar. She received her M.D. from Stanford where she received the Allen B. Barbour award for excellence in clinical medicine. She has published several medical research studies in areas ranging from infertility and infectious disease to the education of physicians in training. Her paper on clinical problem solving was published in The New England Journal of Medicine in July 2000.
Thanks to her intensive training in internal medicine, Emma is well equipped to manage a wide range of adult and adolescent medical concerns. Her special areas of clinical interest include women's health and adolescent medicine.
